Affiliate links on free themes

The short version

The Chaturbate links in a free theme carry a StreamerSuite referral code. When someone signs up to Chaturbate from your profile, Chaturbate pays a referral commission. That commission comes out of Chaturbate's pocket, never yours. Your tips, your token payouts, and your fan club revenue are untouched. Fans see the same pages and pay the same prices. On the free plan the commission comes to us, and it's what keeps the free plan free.

Your profile is still yours. You can have the links carry your own referral code instead: that's what Pro does automatically. Or you can edit or remove them by hand, on any plan, any time. Both paths are covered below.

Why free themes carry our code

A custom profile design is expensive the ordinary way. Designers charge $150 and up for a single theme, many charge in tokens, and you pay again the next time you want a refresh, a seasonal variant, or a fix after Chaturbate changes something. If you've ever commissioned one, you know the drill: days of back and forth, a result you can't edit yourself, and a designer you have to chase every time your schedule changes.

And what you get for that money is often a single flat image the designer hosts for you. Nothing to click, no links to your fan club or your gallery, and a layout that falls apart on a phone, where most of your fans are. StreamerSuite themes are alive: real links, real blocks for your schedule, tip menu, and rules, a design that holds up on any screen, and an editor where you change it yourself whenever you like.

None of that is cheap to build, because Chaturbate's about box is one of the most hostile places on the internet to design for. No scripts. No stylesheets. A strict filter that silently strips most of what a designer would normally reach for, so a design that looks perfect in a mock-up falls apart the moment it's pasted in. Making something that looks genuinely good in there, and keeps looking good, takes real graphic design work and a lot of trial and error against Chaturbate's rules.

Make the links earn for you

Before you reach for the removal instructions, here's the part worth sitting with: those referral commissions exist either way. Chaturbate runs its affiliate program for broadcasters too, and every fan who signs up from your profile is a referral somebody gets paid for. Remove the links and nobody gets paid. Keep them and flip the code, and that somebody is you.

Replace or remove the links yourself

Your Chaturbate profile always belongs to you. What StreamerSuite publishes is ordinary HTML pasted into your About Me box, and you can change it there any time, on any plan, without asking us. It takes about 5 minutes in Chaturbate's own settings, and your design keeps working while you do it. There are two ways to go: point the links at your own referral code, or take them out entirely.

Point the links at yourself

1. Log in to Chaturbate and open the Affiliate Program section, then go to Link Codes. This is where Chaturbate shows the referral links that credit your account.
2. Copy any link on that page and find the part that reads campaign= followed by a short code. That code is yours. It's how Chaturbate knows a signup should credit you.
3. Open your bio for editing on Chaturbate: Bio → Edit Your Bio. The About Me box contains the HTML your theme published.
4. In that HTML, find each spot that reads campaign= and replace the code after it with your own code from step 2. Use your browser's find on page search to catch every one.
5. Save your bio. From then on, signups from your profile credit your affiliate account, and you can watch them arrive on Chaturbate's affiliate stats pages.

Remove the links entirely

1. Open your bio for editing on Chaturbate: Bio → Edit Your Bio.
2. In the About Me box, delete the link tags you don't want, from an opening <a to its closing </a>. Or delete the pasted HTML altogether and start clean. The design is yours to keep, trim, or drop.
3. Save your bio. Done. No links, no codes, no commissions for anyone.

One honest caveat: publishing from StreamerSuite again on the free plan puts our code back on the links, so hand edits last until your next publish. If you want your own code on every publish, automatically, with nothing to find and replace, that's exactly what Pro does.
